Using SPSS for Windows



SPSS for Windows is the Windows version of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences. It is one of the most useful, popular, and easy-to-use statistical analysis packages. Familiarity with SPSS may be an important step in our professional or educational advancement. The purpose of this site is to explain the basics of using the program beginning with computing a correlation between two or more variables. SPSS is also very useful t-test (one sample, paired sample and independent sample t-test for comparing means), ANOVA (Analysis of Variance), Chi-square (test for independence), Correlation and Regression analysis.

This section has a dual purpose. One purpose is to review the basics of computing and interpreting a correlation coefficient using SPSS. The second purpose is to explain the basics of entering data into the SPSS program.
